Tuesdays With Morrie

"Tuesdays With Morrie" was the best-selling book in 1997. It is a true story about a dying old man with the greatest lessons of life to be passed on. Then in 1999, a movie was made starring Hank Azaria (the voice actor for most of the Simpsons' characters) and produced by OPRAH WINFREY.

How do I know about this movie? Well, I was in youtube surfing the trailer of "Night At The Museum" and this movie appeared in the sidebar. That's because Hank Azaria also starred in "Night at The Museum" as Kahmunrah and I was watching the interview with Hank when I noticed this movie. It was separated in multiple videos of 9 minutes and there are 11 of them. So, I was kind of bored and I took the chances to watch the whole movie. DAMN, IT WAS NICE!!!!

It is full of lessons that we know they are important but we did not care to remember it. No wonder Oprah produced such a movie. The character of Hank in that movie was Mitch Albom, a famous sports writer and he was very busy with his work where everything he did had to follow a certain deadline and he has no time for other personal stuffs. And Morrie, the dying old man (actor : Jack Lemmon) was Mitch's professor in his college. They didn't stay in touch for 16 years after Mitch's graduation, and when Mitch knew about his professor's condition in the news, he went to visit Morrie every Tuesdays. This is where the story begins.

The movie is full of quotes like "when you know how to die, you'll know how to live" , "death only takes away one's life, but not relationships", "what's wrong with being number 2?" and my most favourite quote of all "love one another or DIE". The topics like "death", "love", "marriage", "fear" etc etc which most of us hate to talk about had been constantly talked about in the movie. If you watch the movie full-heartedly, you'll notice there are something wrong with humans' certain mindset. The lessons in this movie struck you in an impossible way you could never have imagined. Seriously, if you have the time, slow down and watch the movie. Try to connect the lessons in your life, see if they make any difference. Yes, the world won't stop, that is why we need to slow down and enjoy every bit of our lives as much as possible. You can always watch it in youtube, just type "Tuesdays With Morrie (1999)" and a set of 11 quality videos are there for you. And I mean QUALITY!

PS: You might need a tissue box with you when you watch it.
